Registrar delivers keynote at CAF forum

The Registrar, J.C. Lorionokou was one of the lead speakers at the County Assemblies Forum (CAF) held on 18th and 19th June 2026 in Machakos county, that comprised women leaders in 47 counties.

The Registrar facilitating on the subject,  “Political Parties, Participation and Inclusion”, underscored the cardinal responsibility of women leaders understanding party structures and governance instruments to upscale their leadership involvement  within political parties.

The two-day national forum convened Chairpersons and Vice-Chairpersons of Women Caucuses ,themed  “Promoting Transformative Women Leadership and Inclusive Participation in County-Level Electoral Processes.”

“As women leaders in counties, you must advocate to be part of top-level conversations and decisions in your respective political parties to protect the interest of women, especially the marginalized and underprivileged”, emphasized the Registrar.

The Registrar who was accompanied by a section of Legal and Corporate Communication team, further urged -“You must acquaint yourselves with respective political party’s constitution, Election and Nomination rules among other party operational instruments to deepen your knowledge and base your motions in decision making within the parties”, urging for the leaders to progress positive narrative of  political parties as institutions of governance.

He called on party members to continue keeping parties in check as public institutions within Constitutional accountability requirements. The forum was part of ORPP continued collaboration with CAF to support counties to strengthen democratic governance and inclusion by respective counties’ leadership.
