Registrar feted champion for advocacy on women leadership as ORPP commemorates International Women’s Day

During the International Women’s Day commemorations, the Registrar of Political Parties, Ann Nderitu, CBS was honored for her advocacy in promoting women’s inclusion and empowerment. In her remarks while receiving the award at KICC on 7th March, 2025, the Registrar expressed gratitude for the recognition as a trailblazer in championing the rights of minorities while emphasizing the role of political parties in strengthening democracy.

‘We are mandated to regulate political parties by ensuring gender equality through promoting inclusion in their governing bodies, party membership, and election candidates. We will continue pushing for the active participation of women, youth, and persons with disabilities in party activities,’ she stated.

The Registrar further urged key players to be intentional in fostering gender equality in the electoral process.  Other speakers at the event called for greater support in helping women overcome challenges and barriers they face.

The event was organized by Turning Point Magazine, which has documented numerous success stories of women across the country.
