New strategic focus commences as  ORPP commences crafting of Strategic Plan 2025-2028.

“In making the Strategic Plan for the period ORPP shall align to national development agenda and ‘learnings’ from Post Election Evaluation report and implementing gaps of the retiring Plait should also seal gaps experienced in legal, communication, procurement and all operational issues as outlined in the Election Operation Plan that guided ORPP in previous election”, Registrar Ann Nderitu, CBS guided.

The 3-year plan seeks to incorporate strategic issues that spur democratic governance.

“The Plan will offer ORPP will be a vital strategic tool to direct the planning of activities in the various functional areas. The Plan shall also take stock of ORPP achievements, milestones, and challenges while harnessing the potential of individuals and sockets within the Office. We should also have strategic issues geared towards the next election “, Assistant Registrar, CPA Florence Birya said.

The Assistant Registrar pointed out that the Plan should have SMART objectives and options that have a positive impact on the stakeholders and overall improvement of democratic governance. “As such, some of thematic areas for consideration in the Plan are; promotion of inclusion, digital transformation, support for credible elections, political awareness, political parties funding and financial accountability, research and legal reforms, corporate governance of ORPP capacity among others”, guided the Ali.

“The Plan will help the ORPP to sensible planning that is performance and accountable based”, noted a facilitator, State Department of Planning at National Treasury.

The Plan is being drafted by Heads of departments and a section from regions. It plan will further provide a nexus of ORPP with policy, planning and budgeting and National Agenda.
