Registrar Ann Nderitu, CBS highlighted political parties’ structures that buttress women to contribute and shape the county’s political leadership. “Women leaders must actively involve themselves at the helm of party activities such as policy-making processes, management of party affairs, membership mobilization, and other leadership responsibilities,” noted the Registrar speaking in the forum.
Participants appreciated the increase of women’s representation in 2022 polls in non-affirmative action seats compared to 2017 but noted shortfalls in attaining the Constitutional 1/3 threshold.
The forum was aimed at identifying and providing recommendations as interventions to upscale women in political and other realms of leadership.
