ORPP Sensitizes newly provisionally on Use of IPPMS for Membership Recruitment

Officials from the 47 Voices Party of Kenya were today taken through a sensitization session on the Integrated Political Parties Management System (IPPMS), facilitated by the ICT Department of the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP).

The training, held at the party’s secretariat, aimed at equipping party officials with the necessary skills to effectively utilize the IPPMS for membership recruitment, in line with Section 34B of the Political Parties Act, CAP 7D. The provision mandates political parties to maintain a verifiable and accurate membership register through a centralized electronic system managed by the ORPP.

Speaking during the session, Senior ICT Officer Josphat Nyongesa underscored the importance of embracing the IPPMS for its reliability, accuracy, and real-time verification capabilities, which are critical to ensuring transparency and adherence to legal thresholds. “The system eliminates duplication, promotes data integrity and ensures compliance with the law, especially in terms of minimum membership requirements for registration and funding,” said Nyongesa.
