ORPP witness’s matriculation of governance graduands under School of Democracy

The Registrar of Political Parties, Ann Nderitu CBS, attended the graduation ceremony of the Kenya School of Democracy by the Netherlands Institute of Democracy (NIMD) on 15th October 2024 in Nairobi. During the event, she praised the program for equipping young individuals with essential knowledge in governance and leadership skills, and she also served as one of the trainers.

In her speech, the Registrar highlighted the crucial role that youth play in determining the political trajectory of Kenya. She encouraged the graduates to engage with political parties and youth leagues to promote advocacy, mentorship, and active political participation. “As the majority of voters, your involvement in the decision-making process is imperative,” she remarked.

This event was part of the ongoing initiatives by the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) to engage university and college students in governance, thereby promoting the inclusion of Special Interest Groups (SIGs) within Kenya’s political framework. The NIMD Democracy School aims to enhance the capabilities of youth who are keen on leadership, governance, and public service.
