The Registrar of Political Parties, J.C. Lorionokou, on 6th July 2026, issued eight political parties with Provisional Registration Certificates at ORPP Headquarters in Nairobi, after the parties met the requisite legal requirements.
The parties certified were: Alliance for Democratic Association (ADA), People Salvation Party of Kenya (PSP-K), Neema Congress Party (NCP), One Nation Movement (ONM), Shikana Frontliners for Unity Party (SFUP), National Forum Party (NFP), People Prosperity Party (PPP), and National Integration Party (NIP).
Presiding over the session, the Registrar urged the parties to operate within their founding constitutions and align with the aspirations of Kenyans. “The certification today must not be just adding to the political parties’ numbers, but critically as entities that stand for governance, meaningful inclusion and keen on transformation and sustainability,” he said.
Assistant Registrar CPA Florence Birya reminded the founding officials that compliance extends beyond registration, urging them to maintain records, recruit members with proper consent under Data Protection requirements, and promote inclusivity of Special Interest Groups in leadership. She noted the parties must attain full registration within 270 days of certification, as prescribed by the Political Parties Act.
The session was coordinated by Head of Registration, Locha Erukudi, alongside officials from various ORPP departments, who guided the parties on establishing governing organs, recruiting members across counties, setting up functional offices, and managing records ahead of full registration.
