ORPP inclusivity talks with a youth political advocacy and visiting Danish party officials- Alternative Party

The ORPP held discussions on 19th February 2026, with Siasa Place alongside a delegation from Alternative Party (Denmark) at ORPP HQ offices. Deliberations centered on practical ways of enhancing ORPP interventions on Special Interest Groups (SIGs) — Youth, Women, and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in political processes. The visiting team highlighted challenges facing the SIGs in optimal participation in political and electoral processes. The Assistant Registrar, C.S. Agatha Wahome, assured ORPP’s commitment to enforcing the law to ensure the active participation of SIGs in political parties. “This Office remains steadfast in enforcing the law to ensure the meaningful participation of Special Interest Groups in political parties,” said the Assistant Registrar. The Assistant Director Partnership and Resource Mobilization Department, Beatrice Nderi noted that ORPPORPP will continue building its collaborative mechanisms to support the inclusion of SIGs, bearing their emerging needs. She further outlined ORPP measures to promote inclusion of SIGs, such as conducting quarterly compliance audits, conducting capacity-building programs, ensuring compliance among others. The visiting representatives echoed the need for multistakeholder synergy, emphasizing that a holistic and coordinated approach is critical to effectively champion SIG inclusion in political party governance.
