ORPP feats  former Registrar and Assistant Registrar  for the stellar service

Proud, remarkable and memorable moments as ORPP fraternity convened to honour and celebrate the indefatigable service of former Registrar/ Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission(IEBC) Commissioner Ann Nderitu,CBS and Assistant Registrar Ali Abdullahi/Commission Secretary Salaries and Remuneration Commission(SRC).

The joyous occasion was witnessed by the celebrants’ family and friends, a host of stakeholders, partners, visiting Registrars of political parties and their teams from Malawi and Sierra Leone.

Staff and stakeholders alike gave glowing tributes to the leadership acumen, transformative initiatives attributable to the former Registrar and Assistant Registrar, the ORPP serving leadership and staff, resulting in global milestones attained by the Office.

“ORPP is a living testament of positive impact, culture of excellence and established structures in the country and across the globe, courtesy of the foundations you laid”, noted Registrar J.C. Lorionokou.

“I have gained from your insights, and I’m proud of the achievements and resilience in the times you served with me at the apex ORPP”, observed Assistant Registrar CPA Florence Birya.

“We witness tremendous growth in staff and expansion of offices, ORPP services to the grassroots. Keep the collaboration as you serve in your current dockets”, noted ORPP staffer Eziekel Obonyo.

The former Assistant Registrar, Ali Abdullahi, recounted mixed experiences in his tenure while appreciating the team spirit at ORPP.

“ORPP is right at the centre of politics, law and public expectations. I’m proud to draw valuable lessons, including in managing the 2022 general election”, recollected CEO Ali.

Commissioner Ann Nderitu recalled for exemplary service ORPP achieved, calling for all to put the service of the nation at heart while remembering at all times the less privileged in society.

“We withstood many storms and made many feats. I celebrate the staff for always going beyond the call of duty. I take pride in the contribution of democracy and democracy in political parties in Kenya and the globe,” said Commissioner Nderitu.

Staff also shared a written commemoration to the two in a commemorative book gifted to each at the farewell.

Visiting Registrar was full of praise for the Registrar and ORPP role in supporting the establishment and growth of their regulatory bodies in the country. The stakeholders hailed the support and commitment of the former and current ORPP whose contribution to democracy and realization of citizens’ political rights cannot be gainsaid.
