New ORPP inducted, urged to uphold ORPP values and embrace positive corporate culture

The ORPP held an induction workshop for the new staff and interns from 22nd to 27th September, 2025 at the Kenya School of Government, Embu.

The induction had been preceded by an initial orientation conducted to staff on  their reporting.

It aimed at deepening their understanding of ORPP’s mandate as contained in it’s establishing laws, Strategic Plan, HR instruments, policies and operational standards. The various departments inducted the new team of their functional responsibilities, priority interventions for collegiate service delivery. programme for recently appointed staff and interns ,

Registrar of Political Parties, Sophia Sitati, welcomed the team to ORPP urging the team to uphold highest level of integrity and professionalism in service. “Seize the career opportunities at ORPP but give value to our stakeholders through your responsibilities in various departments. Make necessary consultations, embrace desirable culture and attitude as offer excellent service ORPP is known for “, Registrar said.

Assistant Registrar, Ali Abdullahi, while congratulating the new team encouraged them to take full ownership in their new roles. “Understand the culture of ORPP, uphold our standards and actively contribute to implementing the ORPP mandate”, Ali said.

“Out of sessions from seasons professionals, come out as transformed public officers, identify potential mentors and build necessary professional networks”, urged Head of HRM, Damaris Mwendwa.

The induction coordinated by Human Resource Department, was facilitated by ORPP Heads of Department and complemented by officers from Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), Kenya School of Government, Public Service Commission of Kenya and Pension Scheme Administrators.

Key topics covered included, ORPP’s mandate & functions; Legal and institutional frameworks; Organizational structure and field operations; Political party registration processes; Career management framework; National values and principles of governance; Records management, risk management strategies; Official communication protocols among others.

The team, majority are youth, were awarded certificates and called upon to device innovative solutions in their respective dockets , while observing in place reporting and intra-inter departmental consultation protocols.

The team were further supplied with an array of ORPP information resources including legal instruments, policies, guidelines and general information materials, which they were urged to read and patronise the ORPP Resource Centre which harbours the reference information resources in both print and electronic formats.
