ORPP features in IEBC convene to dissect thorny campaign and funding Regulations

The Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) participated in a targeted stakeholder consultative forum convened by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on 25 July 2026 to gather stakeholders’ views on the draft Election Campaign Financing Regulations, 2026, and the proposed Campaign Contribution and Spending Limits for the 2027 General Election.

The consultative forum formed part of IEBC’s stakeholder engagement process aimed at developing a comprehensive legal framework to guide campaign financing ahead of the 2027 General Election. It brought together representatives from political parties, constitutional commissions, government institutions, civil society organizations, and development partners to deliberate on the proposed regulations and provide recommendations for strengthening electoral governance.

The Office through select nominees has further been enlisted as part of the technical team to IEBC’s effort to draft and process the said Regulations.

Registrar of Political Parties, J.C. Lorionokou, during the forum also attended by Assistant Registrars CPAs Florence Birya, Agatha Wahome, and a team of technical officers.
