The ORPP, in its continued collaboration, joined the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission(IEBC) during the launch of the IEBC’s Strategic Plan 2024-2029 and Election Operations Plan 2025-2027 in Nairobi, KICC.
Speaking during the forum, Registrar J.C. Lorionokou, noted: “The ORPP, IEBC are not merely partners; by virtue of the respective mandates, the two must continue working collaboratively in safeguarding the sovereign will of the Kenyan people”.
The Registrar further noted that the policy impetus given by the two documents is an essential reference for implementing ‘Political Parties Participation in Elections, one of the ORPP strategic pillars in the Strategic Plan. They further help in aligning ORPP’s efforts in monitoring parties’ compliance and consequential interventions, including capacity building for political parties in readiness for their parties’ participation in the 2027 general election.
The two policy documents outline IEBC strategic pillars: Managing elections; citizens’ engagement & participation; equitable representation and institutional resilience.
