ORPP joins IEBC in unveiling national mass voters drive

The Registrar, Sophia Sitati and ORPP team, on 30th September 2025 joined stakeholders, at Mashuuru ward,Kajiado East Constituency in the national launch of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

Registrar of Political Parties, speaking in the event, encouraged the citizens to take advantage of the CVR and register as voters,  pointing out   that registration is a key compliance factor for political party membership.

“ The allocation of monies to parties has a lot of bearing on voters garnered. For instance, 70% of the Political Parties Fund is allocated based on the number of votes a qualifying political party garners in the previous  general election. So, support your party and choose the right candidates in the upcoming elections,” she urged.

The IEBC Chairperson, Edung Ethekon, presiding over the launch, noted IEBC’s renewed commitment in the exercise targeting 28.5 million Kenyans  for registration, to be rolled out in 290 constituencies and 57 Huduma Centres.

The IEBC Commissioner, Ann Nderitu, CBS, who is the Chairperson of the Electoral Operations, underscored the importance of the exercise for the democratic ideals of the country . “The voter register is the backbone of electoral preparedness and a guarantee of credible elections. We welcome feedback to continuously improve the process and be aligned to the unique needs of all citizens”,  Commissioner Ann Nderitu said in presence of other Commissioners , who joined stakeholders in urging Kenyans especially the youth who have recently acquired national cards to turn up in numbers to enrol as voters.

The launch was graced by the Governor, Kajiado County H.E. Joseph Ole Lenku, area elected leaders, representatives of Political Parties National Steering Committee as well as local community religious and community leaders.
