The ORPP’s Budget Implementation Committee (BIC), comprising Heads of Department, held deliberations on 29th July, 2025 at ORPP Headquarters, 4th floor boardroom.

Members conversed and resolved on an amicable mechanism of equitable distribution of the ORPP’s 19.8M operational /recurrent budget available for use across the 4 quarters of the current Financial year, FY 2025/2026.

The BIC further discussed the current year’s consolidated work plan and measures to offset glaring funding gaps out of projected departmental plans.

Committee members also apprised the status of utilisation of budget for FY 2024/2025, for the three sub programmesthat ORPP implements, whose overall  rating was at 99.09%. Further, the team evaluated the last financial year’s  programmes performance report, which indicated most of the programmes as prioritised in the course of the said year were executed to their completion.

“This year’s funding is very constrained, hence the need for departments to device ways of actualizing the programmes in the workplans including building ineter-departmental synergy in implementation,” said BIC chairperson, Joshua Kimulu, while appreciating the BIC Secretariat for the well-done documentation of Committee’s proceedings of the meeting.

The meeting was also appraised of ORPP’s budget/activity projections for the general election, by-elections (once announced by IEBC), and transition to e-government procurement (See related story on page  )

The team’s proposal will further be considered by the Plenary prior to roll out.
