Office of the Registrar of Political Parties will from next week observe the planned mass voter registration.
Registrar of Political Parties, Lucy Ndungu confirmed that her office will observe voter registration exercise in all the 47 counties.
Speaking during a stakeholders meeting organized by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), the Registrar reiterated that the participating in voter registration as an observer is analogous to stakeholders’ involvement in electoral matters.
“That is part of election preparedness for the August 7, 2017 General Elections. As stakeholders we must be part of it,” said Lucy Ndungu.
Second phase of the voter registration kicks off on Monday January 16 to February 14, 2017. The Elections law only allows registered voters to vie for elections.
