ORPP joins stakeholders for review of National Peace Framework

The ORPP was part of high-level ‘Transforming A Nation’ conference, 9th and 10th November 2023 in Nairobi, organized by Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung.

Topics for discussion were; food security, climate change stability governance and anti-corruption efforts, and technology and economic development among others.

Multi-sectoralThe Registrar of Political Parties, a key speaker outlined the ORPP’s role in implementing the 2/3 thirds gender principle. “ORPP has been at the forefront in ensuring gender equality through advocacy on constitution amendments, implementation of 2/3 representation by political parties special seats, issuance of 15% of Political Parties Fund to parties with SIGs, part of Multi-sectoral working group, all these efforts geared towards the realization of the 2/3 gender.” said the Registrar. She further highlighted the transformative programs for women’s inclusion that she noted must be supported to ensure women’s inclusion. “I urge all women to participate in the electoral processes as data show that the more special interest groups participate in the electoral and political processes, the higher the number of women stand to be elected”.

The two-day conference drew participants from diverse players including Parliamentarians, representatives from ministries, state corporations, civic societies, and research institutes to synergize efforts toward creating solutions for the future
