From 22nd to 24th July 2024, the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) held a high-level strategic engagement between the Acting Registrar, Ms. Sophia Sitati, Assistant Registrars, and Heads of Department (HoDs). The forum provided a valuable platform for orienting the Registrar on departmental functions and aligning key priorities for the 2025/2026 Financial Year (FY).
The Heads of Department provided comprehensive briefs on their respective functional areas, highlighting ongoing initiatives, key focus areas for the new financial year, and strategic interventions in line with the 2025–2028 Strategic Focus Areas. The interaction also aimed to harmonize efforts across departments and align activities with stakeholder expectations and legal requirements.
Speaking during the engagement, Registrar Sitati expressed her appreciation for the progress made across departments, stating:
“I’m pleased with the commendable work by departments and the gains we’ve achieved as ORPP. We must all continue building the institution to transcend regimes and personalities.”
Other key remarks included those from Assistant Registrar CPA Florence Birya, who noted:
“Such occasions offer us a moment to reflect and interpret legal and policy frameworks in place to grow the ORPP legacy.”
Assistant Registrar Ali Abdullahi emphasized the importance of unity, saying:
“Let us continue to build synergy and strengthen team cohesion as we establish a common understanding of our focus areas and strive to meet our legal and policy obligations.”
The engagement, organized by the Human Resource Management (HRM) Department, also included a comprehensive review of the FY 2025/2026 Consolidated Work Plan, which outlines the key priorities across three directorates and 16 Departments.
This strategic forum underscored ORPP’s continued commitment to institutional growth, good governance, and delivery of its constitutional mandate.
