Registrar meets up Political Parties Steering Committee on introductory talks

On October 30th, 2025, Registrar John Cox held discussions with the officials of the Political Parties Steering Committee, an arm of the Political Parties Liaison Committee (PPLC), a tripartite platform consisting of ORPPIEBC, and fully registered political parties.

During the introductory meeting, since the Registrar’s assumption of the Office, party officials briefed the Registrar on their structures, milestones, and concerns affecting its operations.

Key areas of discussion included the Parties’ Steering Committee’s scheduled Steering Committee elections, parties’ participation in the November 27 By-election, ongoing legal reform, the status of compliance of their political parties, and measures to enhance resource allocation through the Exchequer and partners for PPLC engagements.

The Registrar noted ORPP’s continued support for the Steering Committee, including its preparations for the Committee elections slated for November 2025. He called for a cordial working relationship among the three partners under PPLC.

The party representatives present thanked the Registrar for affording the Committee audience and his assurance for regular engagements through PPLC’s structures.
