The Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) appeared before the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the Parliament of Kenya to defend its audited financial statements for the financial year ending June 30, 2023, as reviewed by the Office of the Auditor-General.
In a notable highlight, the PAC commended the ORPP for receiving an unqualified (clean) audit opinion, an endorsement of the Office’s sound financial stewardship and compliance with public finance regulations.
Former Registrar of Political Parties, Ann Nderitu, CBS, led the ORPP delegation and addressed various queries raised by the Committee. She reiterated the Office’s unwavering commitment to upholding transparency, accountability, and responsible use of public funds in line with the Public Finance Management Act, 2012, and applicable financial reporting standards.
The clean audit not only reflects ORPP’s institutional integrity but also reinforces public trust in the regulatory oversight of Kenya’s political party system.
