Registrar of Political Parties, Sophia Sitati, this morning at ORPP HQs, issued a Certificate of Change of Name to Wiper Patriotic Front (W.P.F), formerly Wiper Democratic Movement (W.D.M).
“I appreciate the W.P.F. for adhering to all procedures for change of party particulars in line with Section 20 of the Political Parties Act CAP 7D(PPA). Such requirements include publication by the party of the intended change(s) in the Kenya Gazette and two newspapers if nationwide circulation, addressing any objections received, and notifying the Registrar of the changes within the timelines in the PPA”, noted the Registrar. She was accompanied by Assistant Registrars Ali Abdullahi and CPA Florence Birya, as well as a section of ORPP officers.
‘The party leadership decided to change the party name, for the second time (Initially ODM-Kenya), to be responsive to the aspirations of its members and Kenyans, said the party leader, Hon. Kalonzo Musyoka, while appreciating the @ORPPKenya for its efforts in strengthening political parties.
The party leader was accompanied by a section of party officials, its elected leaders and Secretariat.
