The ORPP, during a certificate issuance session held at the ORPP Headquarters on 12th August 2026, issued provisional registration certificates to three political parties: Clean Alliance Party of Kenya (CAP-K), Chama cha Undugu na Demokrasia (CUD) and New Face Party of Kenya (FACE)
The Registrar of Political Parties, Mr. J.C. Lorionokou, presented the certificates and, in his remarks, commended the party officials for adhering to the legal requirements governing the registration process and urged them to focus on popularizing their policies, ideologies and programs while remaining fully compliant with the law.
“You must now focus on popularizing your party by clearly presenting your policies and ideologies to the public, while remaining fully compliant with the law,” the Registrar said.
The Deputy Director of Registration, Mr. Locha Erukudi, reiterated the requirements under Section 7 of the Political Parties Act, Cap. 7D, particularly the need for inclusive leadership structures and gender balance. He further encouraged the parties to undertake training on the Integrated Political Parties Management System (IPPMS) to strengthen internal governance and enhance operational efficiency. Representatives of the parties expressed appreciation to ORPP for the guidance and support provided throughout the registration process and pledged to fulfill all legal and institutional requirements towards full registration.
