The Office of the Registrar of Political Parties was part of a high-level delegation at the 6th County Assemblies Legislative Summit, Mombasa County, 13th to 17th April 2026, in Mombasa
Registrar, J.C. Lorionokou, spoke on a wide array of partnerships the Office had with the County Assemblies under the forum theme “Resilient County Assemblies: Reinforcing Representation, Legislation, and Oversight.”
The convening by the County Assemblies Forum (CAF) brought together key stakeholders from across Kenya’s 47 county assemblies.
The Registrar further emphasized the centrality of inclusive participation in democratic processes. He noted that as the country prepares for the 2027 General Election, the strength of Kenya’s democracy will not merely be measured by voter turnout, but by the extent to which citizens are informed, included, and actively engaged in shaping leadership and governance outcomes.
