ORPP monitors high-stake Ol Kalou Constituency By-Election

The Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) monitored the Ol Kalou Constituency Parliamentary By-election in Nyandarua County as part of its mandate to promote compliance with the Political Parties Act and support credible electoral processes.

The monitoring exercise focused on the conduct of the by-election, including pre-poll preparations, polling day activities, and the participation of political parties and their candidates. ORPP officers observed the electoral process across selected polling stations to assess compliance with electoral laws and established procedures.

Particular attention was given to the conduct of political parties, candidates, and party agents, many of whom had participated in capacity-building programmes conducted by ORPP before the by-election. The monitoring exercise sought to evaluate the effectiveness of the training and the level of compliance with the legal and regulatory framework governing political parties during elections.
