ORPP Champions Inclusivity and Political Education at People’s Dialogue Festival in Meru

The Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive democratic engagement at the inaugural devolved People’s Dialogue Festival (PDF) – Meru Edition, held on July 10th and 11th, 2025.

The two-day event brought together a diverse group of stakeholders citizens, political actors, civil society, and institutional partners in a vibrant celebration of civic dialogue and participatory governance. The ORPP took an active role by exhibiting its services and participating in key panel discussions aimed at deepening political education and awareness, particularly at the grassroots level.

As the first devolved edition of the renowned PDF, the Meru gathering marked a significant shift toward localizing democratic engagement. ORPP’s presence at the festival underscored its ongoing mission to ensure that all Kenyans—regardless of age, gender, or geographic location are not only informed about their political rights but also empowered to actively participate in the political process.

Panel sessions featuring ORPP representatives focused on strengthening political party structures, youth engagement, and promoting women’s participation in politics. The Office also showcased its tools for party registration, compliance monitoring, and dispute resolution, offering festivalgoers a first-hand look at how it fosters transparency and accountability in Kenya’s political space.

By participating in the PDF Meru Edition, ORPP demonstrated that true democratic growth starts with informed, engaged citizens and institutions willing to meet them where they are.

As Kenya continues to build an inclusive and participatory political culture, initiatives like these show the value of taking the national conversation to the counties—one dialogue at a time.
