Citizens Alliance for Democratic Party (CADA) issued with certificate of provisional registration

Citizens Alliance for Democratic Affairs (CADA) is the latest provisionally registered political party after issuance of its certificate by Registrar, J.C. Lorionokou, today at ORPP HQ.

Party founders engaged with the ORPP team during the issuance session, presided over by the Registrar in company of Assistant Registrars and a section of ORPP technical officers, who guided party founders on legal and operational steps to full registration. The party, now the 27th under the category, is required to meet full registration requirements within 270 days from date of provisional certification.

“Think and reflect deeply on the value you will provide to the citizens and practical positive contribution you will have to better the democracy as you join the already 92 fully registered and 27 provisionally registered parties. You must live and operate beyond the founders”, the Registrar, J.C Lorionokou guided.

The founders were further called to ensure inclusivity in all structures.

“Coming into the political party management space, inclusion for all Special Interest Groups even at the apex of party leadership is not an option. You have the responsibility never to fail the political aspirations and dreams of those that will join your party”, underscored the Assistant Registrar, CPA Florence Birya.

Assistant Registrar, CS Agatha Wahome called on the party founders to sustain the momentum towards full registration.” You must be progressive and embrace good governance, including nurturing and involvement of the youth into the party leadership right from the onset of the party formation”, CS Agatha advised.

“The process, albeit long and rigorous, has been seamless courtesy of professional guidance received from ORPP through the journey”, Dr George Kiongera, the CADA party leader, appreciated.

The party earned provisional registration following the raft of provisional registration requirements. Some of the conditions that a party must comply with relate to reservation of party particulars, approval of party documents (constitution, ideology, manifesto), publication of notice in newspaper and Kenya Gazette as well as clearance by relevant agencies of party founders to have met Constitutional leadership and integrity obligations.
