On 27th August 2026, the ORPP Nairobi Metropolitan office, which covers Nairobi, Kiambu and Kajiado counties, participated in the Forum for Youth Aspirants (FOYA) Programme at Ufungamano House, Nairobi.
The forum, organized by Vijana Uongozini, brought together 100 youth aspirants drawn from the Nairobi Metropolis and parts of the Central region. The Regional Coordinator, Lucy Kemunto, sensitized participants on the governance and operational setup of political parties and educated them on key party processes, including the rights of members, aspirants, and candidates within political parties, membership requirements, the conduct of nominations, and governance and operational instruments such as party constitutions and rules. She also outlined internal and external mechanisms available for seeking redress of disputes.
The session provided an insightful platform for young aspirants to learn about the diverse roles and opportunities available to youth within political parties, including how to seek elective positions on party tickets and the various avenues for engagement in the country’s democracy.
