The Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP), with support of NIMD Kenya, on 1st July 2026 convened a Multi-Stakeholder Dialogue Forum bringing together key players from across the political and digital governance space to discuss and lay out interventions to Technology Facilitated Gender-Based Violence (TFGBV) and Online Violence Against Women in Politics (OVAWP).
The forum drew participants from government, regulatory agencies, political parties, civil society, and digital media, with more than 40 key stakeholders converging to share varied insights and voices on the growing menace of online abuse targeting women in political spaces.
Registrar of Political Parties J.C. Lorionokou commended the diverse representation of institutions and individuals engaged in tackling the subject matter. He observed that the issues of gender-based violence, technology-facilitated GBV and exclusion were not merely electoral problems but broader setbacks that demand a collective approach.
