The Registrar in the course of June held several donor partner meetings with visiting delegations.
On 2nd June 2026, the Registrar played host to delegations from the Hanns Seidel Foundation Kenya/The Junge Union (HSF) and the Netherlands Institute for Multiparty Democracy (NIMD) and their teams. In the deliberations, the ORPP apprised the partners of its support needs and explored projected joint programmes for the period ahead.
The HSF delegation, led by Markus Oesterlein from Germany, centred the discussions on areas of mutual interest in strengthening democratic governance and political party development in Kenya, with particular attention to capacity-building and institutional strengthening for parties.
Both meetings also covered briefings on ORPP’s mandate — the registration and regulation of political parties, compliance with the Political Parties Act, and mechanisms for promoting accountability and good governance within Kenya’s party ecosystem — with discussions on specific joint capacity-building initiatives identified for implementation.
