The Registrar held discussions with the National Cohesion and Integration Commission CEO, Daniel Geti, PhD, to broaden the two institutions’ support and collaboration, with a focus on enhancing institutional capacity and engagement with citizens, on 14th January 2026. The talks of the two Executives and their teams were held at NCIC\u2019s offices at Upper Hill, Nairobi.<\/p>\n

The deliberations identified potential areas for intervention to promote political sanity, peace, and cohesion, building on the long-standing cordial relations between the two independent agencies. “The elections and various aspects of the country’s hold in the manner we will manage digital avenues, promote dialogues amongst all players, engage and nurture the expansive youth population into the leadership roles”, observed the Registrar while briefing on mandate and a raft of other potential areas of collaboration.<\/p>\n

“The ORPP is a critical partner in advancing and teaming up with National Cohesion and Integration Commission<\/a> in creating interventions of the country’s challenges- on distrust, degeneration of values, bad governance, intergenerational tensions and structures that are key issues identified during intergenerational conversations the National Cohesion and Inte<\/a>gration Commission<\/a> held in 6 counties so far”, said National <\/a>Cohesion and Integration Commission<\/a> CEO, Dr. Giti as he briefed on other milestones made.<\/p>\n

The discussions also delved in depth to promote ethical and responsible use of fast-paced digital media to advance good governance, issue \/people-centred politics, and other progressive motions for an inclusive and cohesive society.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

To enhance already existing cordial ORPP-media relations and structure multi-pronged approaches for media, yesterday, Registrar J.C. Lorionokou held discussions on 15th January with the Media Council of Kenya, <\/a>CEO David Omwoyo, at the Media Council of Kenya. <\/a>Discussions were centred around cooperation in media training, information verification, and long-term programmes to enhance information service to the citizens on traditional and new media.<\/p>\n

“The new media is and will remain a key factor in shaping political discourse pre and during the 2027 elections and beyond. While ORPP remains open to media scrutiny. Conversely, the media practitioners should always seek expert perspectives of the subject institution on a matter before airing or publication for balanced and responsible sensitive political messaging, which, if not managed, may dement political stability of a country “, advised the Registrar.<\/p>\n

“In the MCK’s dual mandate of developing and regulating the media, we will continue providing expert support to ORPP and parties through media-related engagements. These engagements should begin early and be structured for effective management and participation of varied players in the 2027 general election “, said CEO Omwoyo.<\/p>\n
