On 15th April, 2026<\/strong>, the Registrar, J.C. Lorionokou, issued provisional registration certificates to 3 Political Parties: The Future Party (TFP), Kenya Great Party (KGP), and United Super Alliance Party (USAP).
\nThe issuance followed a rigorous evaluation of parties’ applications in line with legal requirements.
\n“The ORPP party registration applications in a collective approach where different departments\/responsible committees collaborate to infuse their expertise in the evaluation, hence making the process impartial, transparent, and accountable\u201d, said Assistant Registrar, CPA Florence Birya in a briefing session on behalf of the Registrar.<\/p>\n

She further advised the party officials present to acquaint themselves with the applicable legal provisions. She called on them to strictly adhere to approved party instruments and documents, including membership recruitment plans of members (seeking necessary consent), and ensure representation of demographics and their spread across the country for the sustainability of their parties as they seek the next phase of full registration.<\/p>\n

“The phase of full registration is even more demanding. I encourage you to get out of your way to market and convince potential members to your parties as part of the requirements for full registration. You must also establish functional party offices across the counties in appropriate locations that best serve Kenyans,” said CS Agatha Wahome.
\nThe ORPP officials guided the party officials on their various dockets. The issues briefed on related to registration, compliance, ORPP automated services, records management, and communication, among others.<\/p>\n

Party officials present appreciated ORPP for the cordial support accorded through the years incurred by parties from the application to provisional registration.
\n“The process has been beyond reproach as it has been objective and transparent. Our true appreciation to all ORPP staff. ORPP is a model brand”, appreciated a party official.<\/p>\n

Key processes before the party’s provisional certification that ORPP assesses with other bodies include approval of party particulars, party documentation (constitution, minutes of founding members, ideology\/manifesto), publication of notices, presentation of website, membership recruitment plans, and payment of applicable fees.<\/p>\n
