<\/p>\nORPP facilitated a consultative training session for funded political parties from 14th to 16th July 2025, focusing on the revised Political Parties Financial Reporting Template\u2014The session aimed to sensitize party representatives on the updated reporting requirements ahead of the financial statements preparations.<\/p>\n
The customized financial reporting tool was collaboratively developed by a multi-agency committee comprising ORPP, political parties, the Office of the Auditor-General, Kenya (OAG), Public Sector Accounting Standards Board (PSASB), Office of the Attorney General, and the National Treasury and Economic Planning.<\/p>\n

In her address, CPA Florence Birya, Assistant Registrar, in charge of Registration and Field Services, applauded the commitment of political parties to enhancing financial governance:
\n“All funded political parties will now adopt this standardized financial reporting template, which enhances transparency and accountability in the use of public funds, including the Political Parties Fund (PPF). Accurate and timely reporting is not only a legal requirement but a cornerstone of good governance.”<\/p>\n
On his part, Assistant Registrar Ali Surraw, in charge of Regulation and Compliance, acknowledged the improved financial reporting among parties in the past year as reflected in the Auditor-General\u2019s findings. He reaffirmed ORPP’s commitment to sustained capacity building to further streamline reporting and audit timelines.<\/p>\n
Philip Cheboiwo, Director of Audit at the OAG, also commended the parties for their strides in aligning with financial management standards and emphasized continued collaboration to strengthen audit compliance.<\/p>\n
