Registrar of Political Parties Ann Nderitu, CBS underscored the importance of prioritizing legal reform. “Legal reform is a matter of top priority that is key towards implementing post 2022 general election evaluation recommendations made by various election actors. The ORPP in its Post Election Evaluation report made important observations to the electoral process”, observed the Registrar, while calling for support of political parties particularly on their inclusion efforts in the electoral process.<\/p>\n

Discussions focused on political parties campaign and financing; voter registration and education; participation of marginalized groups; elections administration and management among others.<\/p>\n

The forum formulated key recommendations and commitments mapped to various actors, forming part of the implementation strategy to the electoral reforms. The event also saw the launch of reports titled ‘Pay to Play?’ and ‘Beyond the Ballot.’<\/p>\n

The forum was organized by Election Observation Group (Kenya) with participation from ELGIA Africa, Mzalendo, The Oslo Center, Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) PPDT Kenya, and other stakeholders.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
