The ORPP convened a National Steering Committee Plenary meeting of the Political Parties Liaison Committee (PPLC) on 22<\/span><\/span><\/span>nd<\/span><\/span><\/sup><\/span> July 2024 to discuss nomination process of its three-slot nominees to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission(IEBC) Commissioners selection panel. The meeting was supported by Netherlands Democratic Institute (NDI).<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The meeting generated heated debate, with political parties representatives having contrasting views on mechanisms of the election.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The ORPP and Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission(IEBC)<\/span><\/span><\/span> offered necessary guidance for an accountable and transparent nomination process while emphasis the need best suited representative to the panel. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In the meeting, the parties endorsed their Steering Committee\u2019s Secretary, Taabu O. W. Daniels, the only candidate applied for the position. He was declared the bearer to the Secretary\u2019s Office.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
