On 15th October 2025, the ORPP, with the support of the Oslo Centre, convened and conducted an engagement with National Police Service (NPS) County Commanders. They were sensitized on ORPP\u2019s mandate with a focus on its part in elections as well as ways to foster ORPP-NPS collaboration to execute the two bodies’ distinct roles in peaceful political conduct and electoral processes.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0“I applaud County Commanders for sparing time for the open engagement. We commit that ORPP will continue to build capacity of varied formations of NPS as part of its contribution to inclusivity, societal peaceful co-existence, and credible political and elections\u201d, said Ali while fielding questions raised in the forum.<\/span><\/p>\n The ORPP, Deputy Director of Partnerships and Resource Mobilization, Beatrice Nderi commended the officers for the critical security role in electoral and political processes and their interest in understanding the functions of ORPP and political parties.<\/span><\/p>\n In the engaging sessions, Wafula Wakoko, Head of Legal and Advisory Services, provided guidance on a robust legal framework for ORPP\u2019s operations and the interplay between NPS and ORPP, especially in the upcoming 27 November By-elections and subsequent general elections.
