On 14 April 2026<\/strong>, ORPP participated in a Strategic Dialogue held under the Manifesto Yetu dissemination initiative, a platform aimed at promoting inclusive governance and advancing youth-driven priorities within Kenya\u2019s democratic processes.<\/p>\n

The forum brought together key governance institutions and stakeholders to strengthen engagement between young people and institutions responsible for political and electoral governance. Discussions focused on practical approaches to integrating youth priorities into policy and governance frameworks while enhancing civic participation and inclusive decision-making.<\/p>\n

Speaking during the forum, the Registrar of Political Parties, J.C. Lorionokou, commended the initiative for promoting meaningful youth participation in governance and political processes. He noted that Manifesto Yetu continues to play a critical role in bridging the gap between citizens and institutions while championing inclusion and democratic engagement. He further encouraged young people to actively participate in political parties and contribute to the promotion of good governance in the country.<\/p>\n

Speaking on behalf of the Manifesto Yetu National Convener and Political Lead, Gachui Wa Kariuki highlighted the disconnect that often exists between youth-generated ideas and institutional actors tasked with electoral and political governance. She explained that Manifesto Yetu is a comprehensive youth-driven policy framework developed through extensive research, broad consultations and a strong philosophical foundation aimed at advancing youth interests within governance structures.<\/p>\n

Chairperson of the Political Parties National Steering Committee, Evans Misati, outlined ongoing efforts by political parties to institutionalize youth engagement mechanisms to ensure that young people\u2019s voices meaningfully contribute to Kenya\u2019s democratic and development agenda.<\/p>\n

Other speakers included representatives from the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, and Political Parties Disputes Tribunal. Participants were sensitized on strategies for strengthening dialogue between youth and governance institutions, identifying actionable steps for integrating youth priorities into policy and practice, and building networks committed to advancing civic education and youth participation.<\/p>\n
