Development of Political Parties(Technology)Regulations that seek to actualize this effort as part of the larger legal reforms has commenced.
The Registrar, Ann Nderitu while speaking to the ORPP team spearheading legal reforms on 16th Nov 2023, guided that lessons learned and practical experience drawn from the last general and overall electoral cycle must be factored into the legal review to better the regulatory and operational framework of ORPPKenya.
“Let us make all effort to incorporate lessons gained as contained in ORPPKenya Post Election Evaluation report and other stakeholders’ election findings including various observer missions that ORPP engaged”, noted the Registrar.
She further emphasized that the review must be oriented to spur ORPPKenya commitment to champion multiparty democracy and promotion of citizens’ political rights.
“The ORPPKenya is the number one defender of multi-party democracy. We must build and bear the mindset to protect and safeguard the gains realized in this front, noting the many sacrifices made by forbearers to the country’s democracy gains realized ‘,Registrar said ,while calling for other stakeholders to embrace a similar approach.
